What Tiny likes to transfer in her work can be expressed in three words “Love of life”. The pleasure in observing and translating the beauty of nature. A kind of ongoing conversation with her Creator. Depicting the harmony between the natural and the man-made, using simple lines and colour as her favourite tools to balance the compositions. Recently she moved from painting with paint to painting with wool. Not that she wants to abandon other mediums, but it is rewarding to experience how wool can open up artistic ways.

Her wall-hangings are an atmospheric interpretation in the first place. Not a photographic view but an artistic impression with her own aesthetic values as starting point. Sometimes she works with pure, by nature itself coloured animal fleeces in subdued earthly tones. In turn, a sunset will be transferred abundantly in energetic reds. Some of her work is monochromatic since concentrating on one colour increases the psychological and symbolic associations the viewer has with colour. However, using the full spectrum of saturated colours can create a sense of sheer exuberance and joy. The intensity of the colours in which felting wool is currently available gives her many opportunities to experiment with.

Although the tactile and noise absorbing qualities of wool are perfect for decorative purposes, it will never be a point of departure for Tiny. Rather is it a challenge to explore and combine the centuries-old felt techniques with modern materials and current artistic knowledge.

Not only examining the work of previous artists provides her with a wealth of knowledge but joining hands with local artists as well as frequently visiting Museums and Art galleries will always be a welcome source of information. Finally she would like to pay tribute to the leaders of the Int. School for Textile Art and Design; Hawar.(See links)
